Stop African Swine Fever (StopASF)

Following an increase in cases of African swine fever in several EU countries in 2020, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has launched the Stop African swine fever (StopASF) campaign. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the viral disease, which occurs in domestic pigs and wild boar, and is primarily aimed at farmers, pig breeders, hunters and veterinarians.

To enable competent authorities from the European Member States to actively support the campaign, EFSA provides various toolkits on its website that can be used for press and public relations work. These toolkits include stickers, posters and social media materials. They are available in several languages, including German, and provide information on possible symptoms of the disease as well as safety measures that can be taken to stop the spread of the disease.
