Focal Point tasks
The tasks of the focal points are varied and are primarily aimed at improving the flow of information between the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and the national food and feed safety organisations.
As EFSA's contact point in Germany, the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) ensures the exchange of scientific information on initiatives, ongoing procedures, research projects, risk assessment results and risk communication on food, feed and other topics within EFSA's remit.
The Focal Point also supports German experts in making their expertise available to EFSA. In this way, it contributes to the transfer of scientific expertise from Germany in the field of food safety.
