One of the tasks of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is to provide information on health risks in the food chain in the European Union (EU). To this end, it works closely with partner institutions in the member states.
EFSA's campaigns draw attention to pressing food safety issues to raise awareness about everyday food choices.
As the health of animals and plants also has an impact on food safety, EFSA's #PlantHealth4Life campaign, for example, informs citizens about plant health and gives them tips on how to protect native plants.
The StopASF (Stop African Swine Fever) campaign is aimed primarily at farmers, but also at veterinarians, and aims to inform them about the viral disease that occurs in domestic and wild pigs.
EFSA provides information materials for all its campaigns and encourages their use, for example by national food safety institutions or multipliers such as media representatives. A wide variety of material is available for social media campaigns.
